ARTIST SPOTLIGHT – MEET LUCY THOMAS
"I didn't value my art as much then because my art was not realistic. In my head the only thing that I thought was worth anything was art that was very realistic!
Lucy didn't discover her passion or ability for painting until she was almost 50. She was a late bloomer but caught up fast! She loves...painting them, arranging them, planting them, studying them and talking about them. Though painting takes up the majority of her time now, she owns a small flower shop in her hometown where she can get her fresh flower fix whenever she needs one. She has shown her work in galleries across the Southeast and teaches art, in person, at the Huntsville Museum of Art in Huntsville, Alabama. Her blended family includes her ridiculously handsome husband, her son, who lives to fish, three lively stepsons, two black cats and a one of a kind dog we affectionately call Crazy Paws.
What you will learn in Lucy's upcoming course, FLORALS - FAST AND LOOSE, are techniques that she is currently using to create. You will explore painting ideas and exercises that will encourage a fresh approach to painting flowers. Lucy will talk about choices in composition and color and she will also give you some concrete actions (that she uses herself!) that will help you produce looser work that is more contemporary and exciting to the viewer.
Class opens May 11th! We hope to see you join the class and learn more about Lucy and her painting techniques! Early Bird pricing is available through April 19th!

Though I have spent my art wad for this year—yup, for the year, I am very interested in this class. What particularly interests me is direction in floral arranging so that I can create my own arrangements to spring from. A couple of questions: Will this class include lighting and set up for still life? Will Lucy provide feedback/critique on her Facebook page if we post?
Thanks!
Hi Anna!
You will love this class! Lucy does go over setting up your flowers, but not lighting. She will definitely be offering feedback to you!

I am so excited to start Lucy’s class. I love her color palette and the looseness of her paintings.
I logged in and listened to the intro and supply list videos but have one question. Where do I get the stencil for the floral paintings. Lucy mentioned that she shared a link but, I did not see it.
Thank you and I am looking forward to beginning the class.
