I have shared on FB, I already get your newsletter. I would love to win a spot because faces are one of the areas I am working on this year…faces and finding my style. So far I have found that by trying out other people’s style in my journal, then examining how I felt about doing it and what I liked and didn’t like about it, I am learning to paint like me. A course focusing on faces might be exactly what I need to progress. Thank you for the chance to win a spot.

I believe I already get your newsletter and I will share on facebook. I would love to win a spot because I am energized by the creative drive of others. Faces are my favorite thing to draw and paint yet they are quite elusive. One slight turn changes everything. One raised eyebrow changes everything. I desperately want to learn.

  32. Elizabeth on September 5, 2019 at 10:58 AM

I want to refine my style and work on portraiture with faces at various angles (not just straight on looking at the viewer). Already receive the newsletter and love it. Have registered for three classes over the last month. 🙂

  33. Bonita Balster-Hendriks on September 5, 2019 at 10:58 AM

Thank you for this amazing opportunity, Kara! I would absolutely love to win a spot, because portraits are my favorite subject! As a young child I was always drawing – drawing portraits by references (of celebs) with graphite pencils. Graphite pencil is still my main medium, so I would really love to expand my mediums and be able to create (somewhat) ‘realistic’ portraits in for instance mediums such as pastel, watercolor and acrylics as well. Also, the line up of teachers is really amazing! <3

  34. Nelvia on September 5, 2019 at 11:01 AM

Would love to see differing emotions and differences in age groups in portraiture, while i love all the beautiful thirty somethings, i have a bit of age on me and think it can be just as beautiful.

I really want to work on fining my own style. I want to share with other artists, and get and share input in a constructive way. I just started painting again after about ten years off, so…I’m rusty. And, Ifind myself going in many ways, I think because I’m uncertain as to wh I am now. I just keep telling myself, paint from your heart!

Thanks Kara, for the opportunity to win a spot on the new LFI! Last year has been hard and energy-consuming, so I missed many lessons of 2018 and 2019. However, I will be on board in 2020! What I most want to learn is how to keep going when you hit a plateau in your art, and how to loosen up more. I also would love to learn to portray different angles and emotions from not only form reference but also from my imagination.

  122. Kim on September 10, 2019 at 2:53 PM

Thanks Kara for the opportunity to win a spot! I’d love to learn more depth to my portraits and give them more color and expression.

I’m coming back for year number five with LFI! It has been a fantastic journey, and I am incredibly grateful for the amazing lessons and generous teachers that have shared their talents. My main focus for the coming year will be to continue to develop (and lovingly accept) my own style. Seeing and trying the diverse skills offered by dozens of instructors in multiple mediums has provided the opportunity to discover what feels natural in my own expressive painting. Thanks so much, Kara. Did I mention that I would love to win a free spot for round number five?

  128. tracyleroy1 on September 12, 2019 at 5:05 AM

I love portraits, and I love expressive art. I’ve been trying to add emotion and expression to my portraits, but I always get caught up on details and realism. I need to loosen up, explore new techniques and “unlearn” certain habits and approach to my work.

I’ve never participated in Lets Face it, but looking forward to to next years course! I would love to learn more about creating faces that are loosen and expressive. That capture the essence of a person that’s more representational of who they are rather than a tight exact painting. I’m hoping to win of course 🙂

  141. Anne Junkkarinen on September 28, 2019 at 8:55 PM

As a child, I loved to draw and would make art every chance I could get. I would love to get back in touch with my inner self and explore new ways of expressing my art with the guidance of all the artists participating in Lets Face it 2020.
