Announcing LET’S FACE IT 2020!

- The very FIRST AND ONLY year-long course that is devoted solely to studying portraits and figures.
- 26 professional artists sharing their knowledge and expertise on portraiture and figurative art
- Geared toward all levels - beginning, intermediate and advance artists
- Areas of study include but not limited to:
- Understanding proportions
- Various portrait angles and poses
- Composition
- Color theory and value
- Finding a likeness in your work
- Loosening up in both your dry and wet mediums
- Using reference photos for inspiration and not necessarily to find likeness
- Style development

Portrait and figurative artwork can be quite daunting, but the Let's Face It community is one of the most supportive communities I have ever been a part of! Since 2016 more than 4500 people have joined LFI 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019! Together, instructors and students, have created a community of encouraging artists that want to work together to overcome the fears and self-doubt that come with creating portrait and figurative art. There is always room for more and we hope you will join us!
In 2020 we will focus on a variety of portrait angles and figurative poses! We will also have several discussions on style development!
Registration will officially open on October 14th! There will be a very early bird special, and an early bird special. You will also have the option to bundle up and purchase multiple LFI courses for a bargain! This year, you also have a chance to win one of 40 free memberships! We are giving away 30 FREE memberships, plus 10 scholarships! So you might get lucky and get the course for free!

Faces are my favorite thing to draw and paint yet they are quite elusive. One slight turn changes everything. One raised eyebrow changes everything. I desperately want to learn.

Thank you for this amazing opportunity, Kara! I would absolutely love to win a spot, because portraits are my favorite subject! As a young child I was always drawing – drawing portraits by references (of celebs) with graphite pencils. Graphite pencil is still my main medium, so I would really love to expand my mediums and be able to create (somewhat) ‘realistic’ portraits in for instance mediums such as pastel, watercolor and acrylics as well. Also, the line up of teachers is really amazing! <3

I’m really looking forward to the style development in next years curriculum. Currently I’m feeling really stuck in limbo, knowing there is a lot inside that needs to come out, but I’m not sure how to develop my voice. So many amazing teachers to learn from, so many amazing styles and techniques to learn from, and their insight and exercises for developing our own styles – 2020 is going to be incredible! ❤
Emotion and Age – bring on the squishy faces and wrinkles – enough of the niceties lets get to the meaty bits! Would love to see differing emotions and differences in age groups in portraiture, while i love all the beautiful thirty somethings, i have a bit of age on me and think it can be just as beautiful.
I really want to work on fining my own style. I want to share with other artists, and get and share input in a constructive way. I just started painting again after about ten years off, so…I’m rusty. And, Ifind myself going in many ways, I think because I’m uncertain as to wh I am now. I just keep telling myself, paint from your heart!
