ARE YOU INTERESTED IN CREATING MORE ARTWORK THAT IS UNIQUE TO YOU?  READY TO REFINE YOUR VOICE AND ARTISTIC VOCABULARY?

In this three-day workshop students will be focusing on studio practices to help expand each individuals train of thought, so they can create works more unique to themselves. Daniel will be focusing on individually helping all of the students throughout the course to better refine their voice and visual vocabulary. This workshop will be great for aspiring artists looking to take the next step from their craft and begin working towards a more unique experience & relationship with their art.

Workshop Schedule:

 

Friday, Day 1:

  • 9:30 – 3:30

    • Exercises on abstract warm ups to help you think from a more creative perspective. Then tightening things into a lesson on construction of a portrait. This will help you get a full range of work practices from abstract to traditional realism.

 

  Saturday, Day 2:

  • 9:30 – 3:30
    • Rendering the portrait construction; going over different blending techniques. How to make sure you are creating something three-dimensional as well as cohesive with the environment. Then we will be going over deconstruction methods to make the portrait more unique to you and defining your style.

 

Sunday, Day 3:

  • 9:30 – 3:30
    • Students will bring in their own references of what they wish to work on and they will try and create a small work of their own under the guidance of the instructor Daniel Segrove.

  • Drawing Paper (Recommended Strathmore 400 Series Drawing Pad)
  • Mechanical Pencil HB & 2B
  • Charcoal Pencil 2B & 4B
  • Compressed Charcoal Sticks
  • Kneaded Eraser
  • Acrylic Paints (Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, White)
  • Acrylic Brushes
  • Small paint palette

Workshop Policies: Due to limited class size, payment is non-refundable, but may transferable, keep reading. If you purchase a workshop and are unable to attend, AND if there is a wait list for the course, we will put you in contact with the first person on the wait list for the workshop. If that person agrees, he/she can pay you for your spot in the course. Once that transaction is completed, we will substitute that person for your spot in the course. If you are unable to attend the workshop, and the workshop has not sold out with a wait list, we will not be able to refund your purchase.  

 

Cancellations: If the event does not reach the minimum number of participants, workshop may be cancelled. In the very rare event of an emergency or unavoidable natural disaster or act of God, the class may be cancelled. If this is to happen, all purchased workshops will be reimbursed to students in full.
