Join Robert in this three-day workshop where you will discover how to create beautiful, painterly pastel portraits! Robert Kelley is a master at all things dry medium! In this class, Robert will guide you as you create pastel portraits. Discover how to take your ordinary pastel portraits to extraordinary! Robert Kelley is a master at helping students overcome learning gaps and take their art to that next level, quickly.

Friday, Day 1:

  • 9:00 – 4:00 - Workshop
    • We will do quick, fun exercises and demos. Robert will demonstrate his process, and work with each student individually.

MEET ROBERT KELLEY

I am Rob Kelley and I am a fine artist/illustrator with a focus on portraiture! I live in Stockton, California, and am a single dad to three children. I studied graphic design at UC Davis and then went on to study illustration at Academy of Art in San Francisco. Although I have had an extensive education in art, I abandoned art for most of my adult life.   That changed, 4 years ago, when my life hit a dramatic shift. At this time, I began looking at why I was in a constant state of low-level unhappiness and discovered that I had abandoned my true and authentic self. I knew that the one thing I needed that had been missing was art! Since then, I have adopted a sink or swim mentality!

Airport and Hotels

If you are flying in, the closest airport to the studio is Santa Ana - John Wayne Airport.  It is about 5 miles away from the studio, with several hotels nearby as well.  Our clients' favorite hotels are listed below.

There are also several Airbnb's near the studio, as well!

***there are hotels closer to the studio, but several that I DO NOT recommend.  If you have questions about hotels, please reach out to me at karabullockart@gmail.com.

 

Workshop Policies: Due to limited class size, payment is non-refundable, but is transferable ONLY if the workshop sells out. If you purchase a workshop and are unable to attend, AND if there is a wait list for the course, we will offer your spot to a person on the wait list. If someone on the wait list is able to take your spot, we will reimburse you your tuition, minus a $75 admin fee for handling the replacement.  If you are unable to attend the workshop, and the workshop has not sold out with a wait list, we will not be able to refund your purchase.

***These policies also apply to a Zoom workshop.

 

Cancellations:  If the event does not reach the minimum number of participants, workshop may be cancelled. In this case, you will be notified 30 days prior to the workshop.  In the very rare event of an emergency or unavoidable natural disaster or act of God, the class may be cancelled. If this is to happen, all purchased workshops will be reimbursed to students in full.
