Description
Join Robert Kelley in a small-group setting, where your wish is his command! Robert will be sharing his expertise with each individual, and guide each artist in whatever specific area he/she is interested in exploring.
Join Robert in this three-day workshop where you will discover how to take your ordinary charcoal artwork to extraordinary! Robert Kelley is a master at portraits, figures and the charcoal medium! In this class, Robert will show you how to take your work to the next level!

Thursday, Day 1:
- 9:00 – 4:00 - Workshop
- Robert will begin the day with demo. He will briefly discuss how he begins a piece, but this workshop is devoted more to spending one on one time with Robert, and working on the specific areas of your own work. Students will spend most of the day working on their own assignments, while Robert walks the room to meet and guide each individual wherever he/she is in the process. Robert will provide one-on-one throughout the entire day, with each individual being his main focus.
Friday, Day 2:
- 9:00 – 4:00 - Workshop
- Robert will begin the day with a quick demo, and will stop with short demos throughout the day, but the majority of the workshop will be devoted to students continuing on their work from Day 1, and beginning new portraits. Robert will provide one-on-one throughout the entire day, with each individual being his main focus.
Saturday, Day 3:
- 9:00 – 4:00 - Workshop
- Robert will begin the day with a quick demo, and will stop with short demos throughout the day, but the majority of the workshop will be devoted to students continuing on their assignments from Day 2, and beginning new work. Robert will provide one-on-one throughout the entire day, with each individual being his main focus.

MEET ROBERT KELLEY
I am Rob Kelley and I am a fine artist/illustrator with a focus on portraiture! I live in Stockton, California, and am a single dad to three children. I studied graphic design at UC Davis and then went on to study illustration at Academy of Art in San Francisco. Although I have had an extensive education in art, I abandoned art for most of my adult life. That changed, 4 years ago, when my life hit a dramatic shift. At this time, I began looking at why I was in a constant state of low-level unhappiness and discovered that I had abandoned my true and authentic self. I knew that the one thing I needed that had been missing was art! Since then, I have adopted a sink or swim mentality!

- General's Charcoal Pencils - variety (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)

If you are flying in, the closest airport to the studio is Santa Ana - John Wayne Airport. It is about 5 miles away from the studio, with several hotels nearby as well. Our clients' favorite hotels are listed below.
***there are hotels closer to the studio, but several that I DO NOT recommend. If you have questions about hotels, please reach out to me at karabullockart@gmail.com.
Workshop Policies: Due to limited class size, payment is non-refundable, but is transferable ONLY if the workshop sells out. If you purchase a workshop and are unable to attend, AND if there is a wait list for the course, we will offer your spot to a person on the wait list. If someone on the wait list is able to take your spot, we will reimburse you your tuition, minus a $75 admin fee for handling the replacement. If you are unable to attend the workshop, and the workshop has not sold out with a wait list, we will not be able to refund your purchase.
