Description

Are you tired of worrying about the end product in your artwork, and want to learn to enjoy the process more?  Are you ready to regain your childlike sense of possibilities in your artwork?

Join Mystele Kirkeeng in this three day workshop where she will share with you about her creative process.  Mystele's heart for people who have found a home in creative expression through the visual arts is for them to more fully occupy their space in the world with increasing confidence and wonder, to regain a childlike sense of possibility in their endeavors. It is a beautiful thing that we all get to be ourselves. There is no other being on the planet exactly like us. Think about that! What a fantastic reality it is to be able to add our unique voices to the creative chorus, singing the notes only we were created to sing.

"I'm really no good at product driven teaching. The process itself is my creative trigger.  I sense the creative spark in the midst of making art without knowing what's ahead, in all the sounds and textures and colors. In this, I'm free to learn and follow my curiosities without the pressure of a specific end result."

I am a self taught, acrylic-mixed media folk artist living in Illinois by way of Texas. I love developing abstracted faces and figures with wonder, hope, and encouragement as underlying themes. I abstract my subjects from what may seem like an unruly, dissonant mess of marks, color and texture, but, to me, it's the most fantastic playground of imagination and sight.

And for someone like me who never expected to be an artist, these playgrounds are always my "wonder works". My prayer is that the art that comes out of my life will renew your sense of Wonder in the midst of a world that has so many dark places.

Who is like you, Adonai, among the mighty? Who is like you in holiness, awesome in praises, working wonders?" Ex. 15:11
