Fantastic inspiration to get painting!!! Maybe my paintings are not yet worthy of sharing but I was at the easel and anxious to return. What an opportunity to learn and more importantly to be inspired.
    Thank you Kara

I loved this Kara Bullock Jumpstart!! All lessons are completely different in style and technique…. its impossible not to learn something new whether you are new to painting faces or seasoned!! I’m enjoying it!

I’ve had to spend much of this year having treatment in my eyes, following a nasty bout of shingles which affected one eye very badly. The eye drops have limited what I can actually do in the way of art between doses, and I’ve had to draw and paint digitally. What I can say is that it’s been just as valuable using the lessons in this way, and I have still been able to enjoy watching them. I am looking forward to using them more ‘traditionally’ soon – they are all such great and inspirational artists, however you use them!

I have participated in Let’s Face it for four years and have learned so many different techniques for creating portraits. Currently most are created exclusively in my art journals (for my eyes only) but i now feel confident, because of the skills I have achieved through LFI , I would be able to create a portrait that would hang on my wall.
Thank you, Kara and all the amazing artist, for making this Possible.
    Lisa

I stumbled upon the Let’s Face is Class last year and did not sign up for fear that it was too advanced for my abilities. When I saw the sign up for this jumstart opportunity I “jumped” on the opportunity to check it out. I followed each lesson and learned a lot; but most importantly, that the teachers are all such great teachers that I think I can confidently join the real class and feel comfortable. Thank you for the opportunity to learn.

I think that my main takeaway from Let’s Face It Creative Jumpstart is the generosity of sharing in the Let’s Face It community – sharing of knowledge, techniques, strategies and even struggles. The year long Let’s Face It course already provides so much content and this Jumpstart adds even more! Now all I need is more hours in the day for creating!!

Ya! Wow! What a great experience I had with Creative Jumpstart! Of course there were many many things I learnt from each of the lessons but let me share my exciting highlights!
-Robert’s lesson was such a great experience learning how to smudge and soften the charcoal as he worked the piece. I was wowed with the technique!
-In Dylan’s lesson, experimenting with the calligraphy pen was enlightening for me as I only have used it to do calligraphy.
-I love the effect of the finished pieces that Kara creates so I thoroughly enjoy learning the steps of how to layer in such depth.
-I was literally glued to experimenting and exploring Sabra’s use of 6 values by mixing little bits of paints for skin tones. What a great lesson for me to experience as I often have issues with skin tones and values!
-Jumping into Misty’s lesson using a grid to draw in the shapes for this piece was so incredible. I am fascinated by this lesson and the steps to finish it.
Thank you to all of the Artists! Such amazing instruction from each of the artists that takes one through the most amazing step by step engaging lessons and learning experience! Thank you Kara for the ACG that is included with this course! It is an exquisite addition and will be an outstanding guide to completing the lessons. Your courses are always superlative! Thank you Kara for this course and all that you do! xo

Last year I missed all these amazing giveaways prior to joining LFI 2025 in January, sneaking in under the wire.

I’ve done (am doing) 4 of the 5 Jumpstart classes and for anyone contemplating doing Let’s Face It 2026, this is the perfect taster event for what to expect in this year long deep dive into portraits/figurative study.

    Highly recommend!

Thankful for Kara Bullock sharing five free portrait lessons with have informed and inspired me. My art world expands with each lesson, learning about new medium, new styles, and new ways of approaching portrait and figurative painting. An amazing community of instructors and students!

Thank you Kara! Just in time as the Fall arrives to be reminded and inspired to get back in the studio. Great choice of instructors that I have admired and worked with in previous Let’sFaceIt classes.

This was my first experience of LFI and really of the School (I bought some classes recently but haven’t started them yet). I enjoyed getting a sense of each teacher’s style. What I loved even more about the week was the live sessions (which I watched on replay). I found each instructor to be super-generous with tips, advice, and encouragement. You could feel how much they really want us to succeed, have fun, learn, and grow! I love that the emphasis in 2026 will be on comm7nity—I can only think that it will be a very welcoming and encouraging world. Thanks so much for drawing me into this wonderful energy!

I am new to portraits and have been wanting to begin painting my grandkids and the beauty of people, but have not had a place to start. let’s Face It Creative Jumpstart has been so inspiring and I now look forward to waking on the West Coast and seeing the email with inspirational lessons and links. Thank you Kara!

I noticed Kara’s charming paintings on IG, and started following her which led me to her school and to the Lets Face It Jumpstart. I have been SO impressed and amazed by everything offered, from the teachers to the range of techniques to the community. Kara is incredibly generous in giving helpful information and I’m thrilled to have discovered her and her school. While I paint professionally, my training was limited to a single style, method and material. It’s so exciting to learn a fuller way to experience art making, and doing it online makes it work in my life. Trying new things is challenging – but with all the positive support its also very rewarding. Thank you so much Kara!!

This Jumpstart opportunity reminded me of the wealth of knowledge and range of artistic styles available in LFI. The lessons were well chosen as together they provide a perfect ‘sample’. Having subscribed in previous years, not all of the were new to me. The ones I’d done before served as sweet reminders of happy times at the easel. Those new to me, are truly gifts which I am in the process of opening with care. Thank you Kara. Roll on LFI2026.

From the LFI Challenge, I learned that EVERY painting that I do is an improvement.

  18. Sandra Hulland (verified owner)

Brilliant – made an exciting warm up and instruction as well as unforgettable introduction to artists that contribute to course.
Definitely the best- top quality means of getting the artistic juices soaring thru the veins heart hands and ultimately art tools ultimately feeding the insatiable desire to paint- getting us to home in a oak ting that personal expression an artist wants to show others. Top notch and fabulously gripping. Can’t wait to start

  19. Sandra Hulland (verified owner)

Just fabulous ! Itself demonstrates extra high quality and course variety as well as helping would be members of LFT 2026 to navigate system and hands on practice how it all works. All round the very best taster ever.

  20. Delora Lalande (verified owner)

Thank you so much, Kara! You generously expand our horizons with such creative energy from so many gifted artists. We’re all blessed to be part of this dynamic community!

  21. Julia Molewyk (verified owner)

I really enjoyed the Creative Jumpstart class! The artists were great teachers. I learned a lot, and I’m very inspired to continue. It was a very generous offering. Thanks Kara!

I’m continually in awe when it comes to anything Kara offers her Let’s Face It community. I’ve been an admirer and a participant for years and am never disappointed. The Creative Jumpstart program was an insightful microcosm of the bigger picture brilliantly highlighting the quality of the lessons and the enormous talent of the Instructors. They have a unique ability to break it all down and freely share techniques to help everyone create portraits no matter the skill level. I enjoy it all so much! It’s feels like a wonderful world of artistic meditation. Perfection is not the goal … it is truly the journey, not the destination. Kudos to the thoughtfulness shown by Kara, who by the way, is one of my favourite teachers.

Creative Jumpstart is a gift for life. To be able to take a peek into what the next year has to offer has opened my mind, my heart and my creative soul to want to commit to a whole year of self discovery. It is beyond doing a portrait as it calls me to want to try different ways of working using many untried mediums while being open to the new possibilities that will develop. What a golden opportunity to taste the fruits of others creatives juices for a whole year while being part of a diverse group of artistic seekers in a community. . Is there a better gift you can give to yourself than this?
