November 8-12, 2017

Brave stories, new friendships, digging deep, layering our hearts and souls on our canvas….these are all of the things that will be happening in the BRAND NEW Traveling Art of Sisterhood in November, 2017! For our first debut, TAOS brings you Tiare Smith, Jackie Barragan, Jennifer Bonneteau, Denise Braun, Sara Burch, Ivy Newport, Melody Ross, Lauren Rudolph, Deanna Strachan-Wilson, and Kara Bullock. Join us as we come together for the sake of spreading strength, hope, positivity and love to all of our fellow sisters in this world. Together, we will create a never-ending bond through the sharing of life, love and art.

Join The Art of Sisterhood as we bring together women with like minds and creative spirits for five days in November in the quaint arts district of downtown Atascadero, California.  Located in the middle of California’s Central Coast, Atascadero will greet you with genuine hospitality and small town charm.  Amidst the sun-kissed rolling hills and majestic oaks, we will share stories of trust, vulnerability, love and forgiveness as we learn and create as a sisterhood.

Learn more about the instructors HERE.

We will spend the first two days of our workshop discussing trust and vulnerability in sisterhood.  How can our sisterhood help us to break down our walls and allow ourselves to be fully seen?  Deanna Strachan-Wilson, Denise Braun, Ivy Newport, and Lauren Rudolph will walk you through their own stories dealing with trust and vulnerability, share the tools that they used to let their walls down, and discuss how their sisterhood helped them to trust that they could make it through the experience.  Each instructor will guide you through a mixed media project, involving many layers, that represent the layers of life in our own stories.

The second two days will be spent working on love and forgiveness.  How do we make space in our hearts to do this, even when it is hard?  How do we love and forgive ourselves?  How can we love and forgive more to keep our sisterhood strong.  These are just some of the difficult topics that Jackie Barragan, Sara Burch, Jennifer Bonneteau, Melody Ross, and Tiare Smith will discuss as they share their stories with you on love and forgiveness.  You will be given new ways to move forward with relationships, whether it be with yourself or others, as we dig deep into this difficult theme that so many of us deal with daily.

I will be your hostess through this journey!  I will be with you from the beginning of the workshop to the end.  On the last day, I will share my own stories on both topics, and how I realized that I could not get through life without my sisterhood!  It is because of my sisterhood that I am able to make it through each and every day!  Together we will create a final piece that resembles the strong bonds created through our week together in The Sisterhood of Art.

The workshop will be held in the super loving and positive space of Denise Braun’s Heartwork City Studio!  Denise is such a light in our sisterhood, and I am honored that she has given us the opportunity to come together in her creative space.  We will meet on Wednesday morning at 8:30am to kick off our time together!  To see a full schedule of the week, click HERE.  The BEST news is that Denise’s studio is in walking distance from the fabulous, Carlton Hotel!!!

We will be staying in the luxurious, historic Carlton Hotel of downtown Atascadero.  It is an independently owned boutique gem that exemplifies classic style through an ornately appointed design, sophisticated accommodations and a rich, historic ambience recalling an era when travel meant something special.  This is truly a perfect stay for an artist like you!  Both single and double occupancy rooms are available.
