In 2017, Deb was a featured artist in Let's Face It 2017. This is a year long portrait and figurative art class where you receive one lesson per week, for 50 weeks. Deb created two lessons for this course, as well as, a mini lesson sharing about her favorite art medium at the time, which was Stabilo! If you are in Let's Face It 2017, do not purchase this course as it is the same lessons!
DESCRIPTION OF LESSONS
This class consists of three mixed-media lesson! In the warm up lesson, Deb will share with you all about one of her all-time favorite materials, the Stabilo Marks-All pencil! Follow along as Deb creates a small portrait in her journal using a black Stabilo and black ink. This is a great way to get warmed up! Lesson one will introduce you to another mixed-media face! In this lesson, Deb introduces, color as well as, collage. She is also a master at lettering, and you will get the chance to learn this technique as well! Lastly, in her final lesson, Deb will create a three-person artwork, with fish. She shares some fantastic techniques in this final lesson that you can definitely take into future pieces of artwork!

MEET DEB WEIERS - ARTIST/CREATIVE GUIDE
I am a mixed media artist living in the countryside of Alberta, Canada, along with my husband, multiple pets, and a huge vegetable garden. I am endlessly inspired by the human face and the emotions it can portray. I believe we all deal with some kind of hardship in our life and I try to have the viewer connect to my work through this shared struggle. I also love to use humour in my work, another shared human experience. I am always trying to push the envelope and grow as an artist.

- Fabriano Artistico 140lbHP watercolor paper (any 140lb will do)
- HUNT EX-FINE bowl pointed nib #512 and nibholder
- Uniball SIGNO Pigment Ink UM-153 - white pen
- Journal page or Mixed Media paper
- STABILO Marks All Pencil 8046 (Aquarellable)
- FW Acrylic Artists Ink (or any other brand if you already have inks)
I will be using White, Burnt Umber, Yellow Ochre, Red Earth, and Payne’s
Grey. - India Ink (black)
- Acrylic Paint - Pyrrole Red middle
- Watercolor paint - Vermillion
- Carbon paper or Saral
- Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay 'aqua' India ink
- Black India ink
- White gesso
- Clear gesso
- UHU Glue Stick
- Acrylic Matte Medium (any brand)
- Mini Mister spray bottle
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Miscellaneous collage papers (book paper, dictionary paper, paper napkins, newspaper, or whatever you have)

I absolutely LOVED this class from beginning to end. Deb is a wonderful teacher and this course allows you to follow her process step by step enabling you to learn lots of different techniques along the way. She starts off with a lesson on how to create a small face in black and white which help you get a feel for how she creates, then she moves on to colour and collage and finally to a large piece incorporating more than one person. She’s honest, warm and encouraging and her class gives you a wonderful launching point to create your own pieces of work. I would sign up for another one in a heart beat!
