UNLEASH YOURSELF with CATHRINE EDLINGER-KUNZE
Join Cathrine Edlinger-Kunze in this three-day workshop, where students will learn how to create a painting through abstraction into the emotional figurative piece of art. Cathrine will be guiding students to use what they see and know, in order to paint what they feel and want; making it their own!
Workshop Schedule:
Friday, Day 1:
- 9:45 - Arrive
- 10:00 – 5:00 - Work
We will begin with an introduction and then Cathrine will begin a demo. Cathrine will show how she begins working on her canvases in an abstract way, then moving in to adding a face and part of a figure. After observing Cathrine, students will then work in the same manner, with Cathrine's guidance. - We will break for lunch from 1-2. Bring snacks!
Saturday, Day 2:
- 9:45 - Arrive
- 10:00 – 5:00 - Work
We will begin the day again with a demo from Cathrine. This time she will work from a model. Students will take pictures with their smartphones, cameras, etc. to have a body of images to work from for the workshop. Students will work on their own paintings, observing the model, using the model as inspiration, but not an exact replica. Cathrine will be there to assist and guide throughout the day.
- We will break for lunch from 1-2. Bring snacks!
Sunday, Day 3:
- 9:45 - Arrive
- 10:00 – 5:00 - Work
We will begin the day again with a demo from Cathrine. She will work from a model again, as in Day 2. She will show how she incorporates oils into her work. Students will work on their own paintings, observing the model, using the model as inspiration, but not an exact replica. We will work from a model for part of the day. Students will use their pictures when the model is gone. Cathrine will be there to assist and guide throughout the day.
- We will break for lunch from 1-2. Bring snacks!
**Space is limited so Cathrine can give extra one-on-one time to each individual.

Workshop Policies: Due to limited class size, payment is non-refundable, but is transferable ONLY if the workshop sells out. If you purchase a workshop and are unable to attend, AND if there is a wait list for the course, we will offer your spot to a person on the wait list. If someone on the wait list is able to take your spot, we will reimburse you your tuition, minus a $75 admin fee for handling the replacement. If you are unable to attend the workshop, and the workshop has not sold out with a wait list, we will not be able to refund your purchase.
