I have been bookbinding for years and I would love to share my passion with you! In this course, you will learn the various techniques used to create one of a kind pieces of artwork. You will leave with your very own, special books. These alluring books make great gifts for loved ones, or a poetic alternative to your own personal art-journal. I sure hope to see you in class!
Description of Lessons
Lesson 1 - Book Design
Bookbinding is a beautiful way to create keepsake journals for your family or dear friends. But where do you start? What will be the size of your journal? What will it be used for? Are you creating a beautiful hand crafted diary? Are you creating an art journal to save your heirloom photographs? These are some of the questions we will use to learn how to design your own hand crafted art journals.
Lesson 2 - Book Assembly
Bookbinding is an amazing way to create keepsake journals. With a few supplies, you can create custom journals for your own personal use. No need to spend hours or days looking for the personal journal that is perfect for your needs. You will be able to create your very own during this lesson.
Lesson 3 - Non-Adhesive Binding
Okay, you have envisioned the perfect keepsake journal. It is time we learn the various techniques to bind our keepsake journals together. These non-adhesive binding techniques illustrate the creative ways to assemble your keepsake journal.
Lesson 4 - Adhesive Origami Fold Binding
In our final lesson, you will learn to loosen up by creating origami journals. These are fun keepsakes that can be used for holiday or party memories. These folding techniques fill your keepsake journals with the blank canvas to place all of your memories and family history in each custom art journal.
