I found Kara’s studio through Robert Kelley’s instagram – I always admired his amazing charcoals and I recall seeing some promotion with the word TUSTIN on it and I stopped in my tracks. If this dude was coming here, I was THERE. I walked in thinking I was a stranger, but really, I was coming home. Kara is fully invested in her attending artists and the artist/teachers she hosts. It is her level of care for art and the understanding that art requires a safe haven at times which shapes her studio into a rare retreat for the soul. Friendships are quickly forged and you are fully allowed to be, do, and become whoever you need to be to rise up to the art of the day. She maintains a family feel while pulling in an ever increasingly amazing roster of high caliber artists.
