Let’s Face It – 2017 – Lynda King

Made with Repix (http://repix.it)To see a face evolve radiating emotion, or a figure speaking loudly without uttering a single word is beyond exciting for me.  It is pure pleasure to spend the hours of the day at my drawing desk or at my easel and not notice the minutes tick by.”

 Biography

I’m a northern girl.  I was born and raised in northern Ontario, Canada and am now newly established in North Bay, a beautiful city by lake Nipissing.  I live there with my wonderful husband and two cats, Sophie and Zoe.

I have always been creative, be it sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting and since 5 years ago, painting and drawing.  Art has captured my heart, it has saved it, it has nurtured it.  I am a self taught artist and with the help of books and too many online classes to name them all, I am on the road to developing my own style.

My passion for portraits and figures, has been a wonderful discovery.  To me, it isn’t just about creating an image of a person, it’s a symbol of emotion, of life.  I love seeing a face or figure evolve in a sketch, or in a painting and reflect emotion and character.  Plus, the challenge of capturing the pose and expression is so worth it!  My learning journey isn’t over by any means, I still have a long way to go to be where I want to be.  And that’s ok, it’s important to evolve and change.  To anyone who wonders where to start, I say to you, “Put your heart into it, and do not give up!  Keep pushing through the ugly stages, and boy, there are so many!  Be patient with yourself and PRACTICE!  Yes, that’s it, practice, everyday!  You will be proud of what you accomplish! ”
