Let’s Face It – 2017 – Heather Foust
“I draw faces because I love to express myself within my portraits. I can convey whatever mood I am feeling with just a change in an eyebrow or a color of an eye. With a flick of a brush or a pencil.“
Biography
I am a local artist living in West Lawn, PA. Growing up I was in a household of constant creating. My Mother and Father were both artists, not to mention my Aunt, who lived next store, was also an artist. I just thought everyone was brought up that way.
I have a love for Mixed Media Portraits. Most of my paintings are made of paper, acrylic paint, ink, pencil, and embellishments. I like to make messes. To me a smudge can be beautiful.
What I am hoping to evoke in people is joy. I want them to feel some kind of good emotion when they look at one of my paintings.
Somerset Studio has featured my Mixed Media Portraits in the Jan/Feb 2015 issue, and featured My Owls in the May 2015 issue.
I was featured in an article in the Reading Eagle.
Have had other pieces published in other various magazines, emagazines and zines.
I have had pieces in the Vanity Fair Show at Goggleworks in Reading, PA.
I have been in my first solo show a the UZRH in Lititz, PA
I also sold an image of one of my paintings to Hallmark.
I am a perfect example of it is “Never Too Late” to go after your dreams. Just do It!
